The Kimono Suite is a series of aqua forte etchings published in 1983 by Chat Press, blossomed from an initial passion for Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblocks, followed by a series of kimono-themed paintings. Andrea Tana redefines the traditional kimono, seeing it as an abstract triptych. The small panels are packed with a mass of compositional ideas, creating a contrast in rhythm and constrictions. 

The etchings have been printed by Christian Grandjean at Atelier Grueneuve, New Crane Wharf, Wapping and the paper throughout is 300 gsm Velin Arches Blanc.

The Girl The Boy Duo is an original and unique piece, composed of the repetition of one kimono plate composition, two small panels, placed on either side of one larger panel. Ink & pastels have been added to the etching.
